New Digs 12/20/2011

We have moved to a new apartment recently with a much larger kitchen. Its is definitely making baking all of these treats easier and more enjoyable. On this week's agenda: fudge, gluten free peanut butter cookies, and chocolate pretzels. I also made a peanut butter chocolate mousse cake over the weekend for the first Christmas celebration we attended. It takes 2 hours to make, but is so worth it! I'm still trying to decide what to make for Christmas part 2. Gingerbread cupcakes with cream cheese icing perhaps? I hope your holidays are filled with delicious homemade treats!

Turning Up the Heat! 07/03/2011

I spent this weekend making a volcano cake. Even Alan joined in on the fun of making candy lava. I didn't realize how much the heat and humidity would affect the candy though and it was a bit of a sticky situation - lame pun intended. :) It all worked out well though, and I was pretty happy with the end result. I also made my first fondant dinosaurs. I had a hard time getting the neck to stay upright with the heat. (Maybe it's time to invest in some air conditioning). I will be trying a few new cupcake recipes this week. I also have a baby shower cake coming up, for which I am able to make whatever I want... Sometimes those are the hardest kind to make! I am up for the challenge though. Just hoping that it cools off a bit...just a bit?

What a weekend! 06/13/2011

Had quite the busy weekend of baking - Three cakes and a dozen cupcakes in 4 days! It was a lot of fun to do though. Sounds like baby Leigha enjoyed her first birthday cake. I'm hoping the baby at the cake smash photo shoot will enjoy smashing up his first cake too. The s'more cupcakes turned out pretty well. It's always fun trying out new recipes. I will be finishing up the last cake of the busy baking streak tonight and hoping my coworkers will like it! I'm going back home to California next week, so I'll get to spend some time baking with my nieces which I'm looking forward to. Baking is always more fun with kids around. They don't seem to mind the mess. :) I'm hoping to try out some more new recipes when I get back. Any suggestions? Check out my Recent Creations for the most up to date photos. Have a delicious day!

Horoscope 06/04/2011

So, I came across my horoscope for June in Cosmopolitan Magazine. It reads:

"Near the 2nd, the creative Moon makes you realize you could turn your hobby into a profitable business. Closet baker? Look into renting a farmer's market stall."

I don't really believe in these things, but the timing is rather interesting. Maybe that will be my next step!

Welcome to my website! I am very excited to be able to say that I finally have a website of my very own! I have to extend a giant THANK YOU to one of my wonderful friends, Christopher Eden, who made this site possible with a lot of work and lengthy chats with me. Thank you Toph!

I also have to thank my boyfriend, Alan, for putting up with all of the days of me making messes in the kitchen and dining room, and for doing all of my baking dishes (including painstakingly cleaning out my piping tips with toothpicks). Thank you baby. <3

I also want to thank many of my coworkers and friends who have supported me and trusted me to make birthday cakes, and treats, for them and their loved ones.

A big thank you also to Jenna for designing my logo. It is everything I hoped for, and more! Thanks so much for all of the time and effort you put into it.

I look forward to the new baking challenges to come and will do my best to keep the site updated with current photos of my creations. Thank you for taking the time to check out my site and I hope to be able to fill your tummies with my delicious treats soon!
